Campaign Story

Designed by Fight Club International, Sweeping Satellites is a strategic wargame that introduces aspiring space professionals (and gamers!) to the complexities of satellite navigation, intelligence gathering, and orbital operations.  You become a Space Operations Centre (SpOC) Director, managing satellite assets, responding to emerging world events, and navigating the challenges of space weather and electronic interference.  Tested at Connections UK and DSET as well as with personnel within the UK and US militaries, this game combines immersive gameplay with real-world strategic challenges faced in space operations.

Using the traditional Blue vs. Red of hypothetical gaming, Sweeping Satellites puts you in command of  the Liberal Democracies (Blue) with their technological edge or the Authoritarian States (Red) with their broad military footprint.  Players will then seek to accomplish their missions (victory) through satellite ground tracks, orbital choices, and resource management. Using limited energy and adapting to the dynamic global landscape, players will also need to balance intelligence gathering, countermeasures, and political imperatives to achieve mission success.

Emphasizing real-world concepts like orbital mechanics, geospatial intelligence, and space domain awareness, Sweeping Satellites is not just a game—it’s a practical introduction to the strategic decision-making and problem-solving required in modern space operations. Perfect for professionals, educators, and anyone looking to see the near-future of space warfare and intelligence.

Sweeping Satellites is playable by 2-4 players, ages 12-up, and can be completed in less than an hour.

Production will begin in earnest as soon as we reach our $6,000 goal. (If the website says the goal is a different, lower number–it means we’ve received orders from institutions or elsewhere).

With every order, the Foundation will automatically add $5 to our scholarship fund which is used to create scholarships for future teachers or to get games and books to educators and community organizations.
